In the mornings the school gates open at 8:40 am. The school classrooms open at 8.45 am. All children are expected to be in their classroom and ready to learn at 8.45 am. If children are in school later than 8.55 am they will be marked as being late for school. The school has to record this information and we will politely notify families if they are late. Persistent absence will be dealt with by the school. Our attendance is carefully overseen by our Attendance Champion. We would notify families about concerns regarding attendance in a number of ways. These include speaking to parents, texting families or possibly issuing formal letters. We want every child to arrive on time every day. Getting into a daily habit of being in school for 8.45 am is very important.
In the afternoons, school gates open at 3:10 pm and children will be safely handed over to parents, designated adults, or the Magpies after-school club. We expect every child to be picked up on time each day. The children will finish each day at 3.15 pm.
If you want your children to be collected by a different adult, or for older children to walk home unaccompanied, please make sure the class teacher is aware. The school uses a safeguarding password system when families need to call on different people to collect their child.
Nursery Timings
In Nursery we expect children to be in the Nursery ready to learn by 8.45am. To allow families to drop children off in other parts of the school will leave our Nursery register open until 9am. Children who arrive after 9am in the Nursery will be recorded as late in the Nursery register. Our afternoon session will start at 12.30pm. Any child arriving after 12.45pm will be recorded as being late in the Nursery register.

Teacher Training Days 2024-25
It should be noted that the school is closed to pupils for additional days during the academic year for staff training. In the 2024-25 academic year, teacher training days occur on the following dates:
