West Kidlington Friends
West Kidlington Friends (WKF) is a charity whose purpose is to generate additional funding for the school. A variety of fundraising initiatives are undertaken throughout the school year. Whilst these events and activities are often primarily designed to raise money, they are also intended to be enjoyable social occasions, whether for pupils at the school, or to bring the whole school community together. All members of the school community are automatically members of WKF, and anyone who has an interest in the school is warmly welcomed. WKF also organises the sale of recycled school uniform and holds regular WKF socials to which all WKF members are invited.
All money raised is spent on a variety of projects across all year groups and the Nursery. This includes larger fundraising projects (such as interactive whiteboards, climbing apparatus and the outdoor classroom, which were all funded by WKF) as well as smaller things, intended to enhance the educational experience of children at the school, such as funding the cost of the ‘Life Bus’ (an interactive mobile classroom which visited the school and provided sessions for the children about making healthy life choices). Last year, WKF funded the majority of the school library refurbishment project, including the purchase of new shelving units and furniture and replenishing the stock with new books.

Getting involved
Everyone is invited to WKF meetings and new faces are always welcome, particularly any new parents to the school who would like to get involved. Any and all help is gratefully received – whether baking cakes for an event, running a stall at a school fair, or taking on a more formal role, such as advertising or publicity.
